2020 Application for the
Performance @ Dance Co-op
The Performance at Dance Co-op, presented by Big Rig Dance Collective, will be held at 7:30 pm on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the Texas Woman’s University Black Box Studio - DGL 208.

Application Deadline: Application, work samples, dance image(s) music file, technical notes, and application fees must be received by 10 pm on May 1, 2020. Artists will be notified of acceptance by May 15, 2020.

Fee: An application fee of $15 must be paid through PayPal for each submitted piece. Payments may be made below.

Who can apply? Choreographers and performers must be 18 and older. Selected choreographers and performers are highly encouraged to participate in classes at Dance Co-op.

Time Limit: Proposed works should be between 4-10 minutes in length. Excerpts of longer works may be considered.

Genre: To support BRDC’s mission of bringing experimental and contemporary dance works to diverse Texas audiences, dance genres of post-modern, contemporary, and dance theatre will be considered. Only live works will be considered (while we love multi-media, we have no video performance capability).

Payment: Applicants whose work is accepted will not receive compensation. Venue, lighting, and marketing will be provided free of charge. Selected choreographers and their performers will also receive a FREE single-class pass for BRDC’s Dance Co-op (one-time use).

Tech: Selected works will be assigned a 15-20 minute slot to space their work in the performance venue on Saturday, June 27, 2020. Lighting will be a general wash with the ability to fade in/out at the beginning and end of each piece.

Video/Photo: Performance photos and video will be available for purchase.

Performance: The Performance at Dance Co-op is presented as part of our weekend intensive and provides our students and public audiences the opportunity to experience professional dance works from DFW and beyond.
