CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Big Rig Dance Collective
GROUP PARTNERING - Saturday 11:45a-1:15p
Co-directors of Big Rig Dance Collective will collaboratively teach this class using principles from Contact Improvisation and ensemble composition. We will explore accessing ledges, lofting, and creating moving architecture, while navigating ways to make spontaneous compositional choices as a group. Throughout this class, we will work to connect our bodies on a large scale and investigate how several can support one or a few. (Some CI experience helpful, but not required.)
BODYWORK - Sunday 4-5:30p
This class integrates contact improvisation with what feels good: bodywork! Students will experience giving/receiving and experiment with partner work to develop playful and grounded ways to move with others.

GYROKINESIS® - Saturday 10:00-11:30a
In this class we will explore the art of exercising and beyond through GYROKINESIS®. The movement principles of Juliu Horvath’s method offer similar benefits as yoga, dance, gymnastics, swimming, and tai chi, but are not derived from these modalities. Each day in our bodies is new, and we will take that opportunity to play through both movement and imagination during class.

CONTEMPORARY TECHNIQUE AND IMPROVISATION - Sunday 2-3:30p
My class is like a playground. Together we explore the range of our physicality through play. I’m interested in what happens when technique and form become secondary—they are still active, but our priority is responding to physical drive. Class starts by building heat in our bodies and in the space. We’ll explore repetition, rhythm, and resilience in task and movement that leads us into, out of, and across the floor. Basically we’ll be all over. Sweating, playing, and allowing our bodies to find freedom through movement.
